New Beginnings from a Heart-Felt Community-Driven Need

 
 
  • Abused, neglected and delinquent
    teenagers who had a need for safety
    and support.
  • Judges from Whitley and Huntington
    Counties who had a vision.
  • WHSCF staff who were committed to the mission.
  • 501©(3) non-profit status secured 1974.
  • Volunteer Board of Directors recruited.
  • Eli Lily donated $25,000 dollars.
  • WHSCF purchased group home property
    in Larwill, Indiana and began housing
    court-ordered teens, teen moms and babies.
 
In 1995, Whitington Homes & Services, Inc.
relocated to Fort Wayne, purchasing the Klein
Funeral Home facility at 2423 Fairfield Avenue.
